Lauren's 1st Haircut

IMG_0920Well, the time had finally come for my last baby to get her first haircut (sniff sniff). Actually, I handled this one pretty well, as Lauren is almost 3, so I had lots of time to enjoy her baby hair. Just recently, her hair has gotten curly on the ends, so it was a little tougher to give up the curls, though. We were getting ready to go to Colorado (I'll write more about that soon), and I wasn't sure how her hair would look in the lower humidity out there. (Ever notice how it takes a major event for me to be motivated to cut my kids' hair?) So I made an appointment, (way back on June 17th), and off we went to see Miss Pamela.

Lauren was really excited about it finally being her turn, and she told me, "I love Miss Pamela". She hadn't seen Miss Pamela since she was a baby, but we have talked about her a lot lately with all the other haircuts.  We made a little date out of the day and went out to lunch, just the two of us, beforehand. After we left the restaurant, Lauren told me, "That was fun!" Then she kept asking where the date was.

Next, we were off to the beauty shop to take some before shots. For some strange reason, Lauren didn't want me to take a picture of the back of her head. I had to trick her with some magazines. They were all about Jon and Kate Gosselin, so she got to see lots of pictures of other kids that were multiples.

When it came her turn, Lauren was very brave about climbing up in the big chair, wearing the cape, and getting her hair sprayed down. She had fun watching all the action in the mirror, too. Lauren did great throughout the whole haircut, except for being a little squirmy at the end. She the squirmiest of my four kids, from the womb on, so that was to be expected. Here are some pictures of the action.......

I know it's not a huge difference, but it helped even things up and got rid of the scraggly ends. Brushing her hair is a much more pleasant experience now!

Can you guess what milestone we are hoping to conquer next?

God bless,

Amanda
